Dr. Mendeszoon is a multi-board
certified podiatrist who treats all surgical and non-surgical conditions
of the leg, ankle and foot in children and adults. He specializes in
sports medicine, diabetic foot care, limb salvage, trauma, as well as
foot and ankle reconstruction.
Dr. Mendeszoon has an outstanding record of academic, athletic and
medical achievements. He received his medical degree from the
Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Mendeszoon completed his
surgical residency at Harvard Medical School Deaconess Hospital-Joslin
Diabetes Center and an orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery fellowship at
Precision Orthopaedic Specialties, Inc. Dr. Mendeszoon is an instructor
of surgery at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and is a residency
attending physician with University Hospitals and the Cleveland VA
Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle
Surgeons and the American College of Foot & Ankle Orthopedic Medicine.
An accomplished athlete, he received All-State honors in track and field
during high school in New York. He earned a four year scholarship to
Miami University. After college he continued to compete for several
years. He coached at the collegiate level at Stony Brook University and
the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a coach at Chardon High
School were he has coached several All-State, State Champions and All
Americans, both in high school and NCAA. His love of the sport inspired
him to create and direct the Maple Leaf Track Club. He is affectionately
known to his students and athletes as “DOC”.
Dr. Mendeszoon has fulfilled his dream of establishing a specialty shop
dedicated to runners and walkers of all levels. The Achilles Running
Shop provides the proper athletic gear and shoes to prevent injuries.
His stores are in Mentor Ohio and Meadville, Pa. In addition, he is one
of Precision’s team physicians for several local high schools.
Always the athlete, he still enjoys working out. |
