Laszlo S. Harmat D.O. is a board
certified orthopaedic surgeon who is fellowship trained in conditions of
the shoulder, elbow and hand. Dr. Harmat joined our team of physicians
at Precision Orthopaedic Specialties, Inc. in the fall of 2006 after
having practiced in the Akron area the previous 3 years. He brings with
him his special talents as an upper extremity specialist as well as his
experience as a general orthopaedic surgeon.
Dr. Harmat grew up in Geauga county graduating from West Geauga High
School. He earned his Bachelors’ Degree in Biology from John Carroll
University and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from the Ohio
University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He did his internship at
Merida South Pointe Hospital and his residency for orthopaedic surgery
at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital where he was the Chief Resident his
last year. He did a Cleveland Combined Hand and Upper Extremity
Fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Metro General
Hospital.
He is affiliated with several professional organizations including the
American Osteopathic Association of Orthopaedics, the American
Osteopathic Association, the Hungarian-American Medical Association and
the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, Inc. Item Writer
for Level 3 Examinations.
With his special skills in treating upper extremity conditions,
microsurgery and digital replantation, Dr. Harmat adds a unique facet to
Precision Orthopaedic Specialties, Inc. ability to provide the whole
spectrum of orthopaedic services for our patients.
His special interests are in disorders of the wrist and elbow.
